How the visit works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Open a window if you can

Coloured bath resurfacing in Sketty without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We are frequently asked to fix a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine. Make sure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode

Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your SA2 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Sketty: your questions answered

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in Sketty.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Are there extra charges for Sketty?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What we can’t put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

When to call us in Sketty

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Repair or replace in Sketty?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You will see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • No need to remove anything
