South Park: your questions answered

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in South Park

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We regularly repair coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and people most frequently call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

All our work is covered by our one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

What a repair cannot fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we work on in South Park

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why book with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Common problems we fix in South Park

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How long it needs to cure

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

If you’re in South Park and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
