What we do, step by step

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to a day or two, depending on how many items, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the following day.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in St Dominick

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Most jobs done in one visit

Take a look at our full price list or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

What affects the price in St Dominick

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to St Dominick. The price comes down to:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Any details about the material
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
