Coloured bath resurfacing in St Thomas'

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in St Thomas'

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, we can help, on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths alike.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Questions from St Thomas'

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed price, plus dates. There is no obligation to book.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work. It clears as the materials cure.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole UK, including St Thomas' and the rest of Lincolnshire. Send your postcode with your photos and we’ll confirm dates.

What information do you need?

Send pictures through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll tell you what will last.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time we agreed with you, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

What we’re called out for in St Thomas'

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Before booking anyone

  • Aftercare advice
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How soon you can use it again

How to compare quotes

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. The main factors are:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What the surface is made of
  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Getting a price from photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your PE21 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
