About bath repair in PE21
We see every kind of bath damage: dropped-bottle chips, plughole rust, acrylic cracks and impact holes. Each is repaired in place with a one-year guarantee. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are a hole punched through by something heavy and cracks in an acrylic bath.
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a few hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
- We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
- We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.
Prices in PE21
Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Local landmarks in Boston
Locally, our jobs take us to homes close to Witham Way Country Park, Boston Grammar School and The Golden Lion Public House and the streets around them. Other local landmarks include Unitarian Church (within half a mile east), Kitwood Boys School (0.8 miles north) and Boston Pioneers Free School Academy (less than half a mile east). Boston has its own railway station: Boston station. Further afield, we also cover the area around Frampton Castle (2.9 miles south) and Pilgrim Hospital (1.3 miles north-east). Green spaces nearby include RSPB Frampton Marsh.
When a repair is not the answer
We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
DIY repairs versus a professional job
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
How to look after the repair
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.
Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Repair or replace?
Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. Normally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.
