When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Stoneyford

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We work on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

10 questions to ask before you book

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. There is no area surcharge for Stoneyford. The price reflects:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire suite

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

What you get with us

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One price list for the whole UK

The process

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It usually takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Let us know about parking or access

Ask for a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
