Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Stroat

Coloured bath resurfacing in Stroat, done in place

Most suites take one or two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Stroat?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

  • What preparation is included
  • When it can be used again

How to compare quotes

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Questions from Stroat

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Do you cover the whole of Monmouthshire?

We cover the whole UK, including Stroat and the rest of Monmouthshire. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Clear the area around the damage

What a repair can’t fix

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Repairing versus replacing in Stroat

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Why Stroat clients choose us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • One price list for the entire UK

See our prices page and bath cost comparison.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for Stroat. What changes the price is:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Something in shot to show the size

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
