Coloured bath resurfacing for The Broad homes

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in The Broad

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. You’ll know the full cost before you book. We look at:

  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your photos

You can take the pictures on your phone, there’s no need for anything special. Just make sure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Common questions in The Broad

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What information do you need?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Normally, yes. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

For anyone letting property in or around The Broad, we will quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Repair or replace in The Broad?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Why book with us

  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Everything repaired in place

See our full price list and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

The process

We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow a day or two, depending on how many items, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Advice

When to call us in The Broad

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before booking

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • When it can be used again
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What protection goes down before work starts
