How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in The Rock

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We are often asked to fix a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

How to get a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the suite, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Advice

The Rock questions

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your TF3 postcode.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Are there extra charges for The Rock?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • No extra charge for your area

See our full price list or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What affects the price in The Rock

Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for The Rock. The price reflects:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many areas need work

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A wider photo showing the entire suite
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Landlords, agents and businesses in The Rock

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Rock as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Common problems we fix in The Rock

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Customers normally contact us about:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
