The Stocks questions

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price. You are under no obligation.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Do you cover the entire of Kent?

Across the UK, and that includes The Stocks. Prices don’t change with location.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in The Stocks?

Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in The Stocks

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. If you are dealing with a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months in The Stocks and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Before and after: an old basin refinished to bright white

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in The Stocks?

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

The things clients normally mention when they call include:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

10 questions to ask before booking

What affects the price in The Stocks

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • How much damage there is
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • The material, if you know it

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the area is dry

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
