Shower tray repair in The Stocks without replacing anything

In most cases, a damaged tray can be repaired where it is, from a chip by the waste to a crack across the base. We match the colour and finish. We’re often asked to fix cracks running from the waste and a tray that creaks or moves underfoot, across acrylic, enamelled steel and stone resin.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee.

FAQs for The Stocks

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you cover the entire of Kent?

We cover the whole UK, including The Stocks and the rest of Kent. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

Can you replace the silicone at the same time?

Yes, if you’d like us to. After a repair is a good time to reseal.

How long before I can shower?

We will give you the curing time on the day, normally the day after.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can a stained tray be refinished?

Yes. The whole tray can be resurfaced without removing it.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Reseal when the silicone splits or turns black
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep heavy bottles on a shelf
  • Do not use strong acids or bleach

Keep scourers and harsh chemicals off the tray. Warm water and a mild detergent is enough.

Stop using the shower if the tray is cracked. Water can get through to the floor and walls, where it causes damage you cannot see.

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, or most of a day for a full resurface, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the floor and the enclosure.
  2. Any sealant in the way is cut out.
  3. The tray is cleaned, keyed and repaired.
  4. We refinish the surface to match the tray.
  5. We clean up and give you the curing time.

Advice

Landlord and trade work in The Stocks

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

For anyone letting property in or around The Stocks, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Common problems we fix in The Stocks

Rigid trays do not bend, they crack when they sit on an uneven or poorly supported floor. Movement in a timber floor has the same effect.

Most people contact us after spotting one of these:

  • A tray that looks tired however much you clean it
  • Damage from a refit or building work
  • Edge chips from dropped bottles
  • Cracks running from the waste

What to look for in a quote

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How the colour is matched
  • What preparation is included
  • Who will actually do the work

Repairing versus replacing in The Stocks

The tray is generally the last thing fitted and the first thing tiled up to, so replacing one disturbs a lot around it. A repair keeps everything as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair normally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • How much damage there is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole shower tray, we can give you a fixed price.

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is typically the cheaper route.
