Coloured bath resurfacing for The Willows homes

Landlords, agents and businesses in The Willows

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in The Willows

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We are often asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, across coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

How it works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from photos

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Any details about the material

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SG9 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What a repair cannot fix

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
