Coloured bath resurfacing for Thirsk homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Thirsk, done in place

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. We’re frequently asked to fix a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Thirsk as everywhere else we work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the next day.

Thirsk: your questions answered

Will it make a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

What areas do you cover?

All of North Yorkshire, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

What happens next?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You’re under no obligation.

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied. It clears as the materials cure.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The material
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed price

You can generally get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Thirsk

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before you book

  • If travel is included in the price
  • How long it needs to cure
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Thirsk. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Thirsk clients choose us

  • No need to remove anything
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
