How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Thwaite
A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re frequently asked to fix a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour, across coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.
Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Questions from Thwaite
Do you charge for travel?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do you come to Thwaite?
Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Thwaite from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
What happens next?
We come back with a fixed quote. You’re under no obligation.
Can you turn my avocado bath white?
Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Will the price change on the day?
If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Common problems we fix in Thwaite
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.
Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Faded or patchy colour
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite

How we price coloured bath resurfacing
Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. The main factors are:
- Doing more than one item at once
- What the surface is made of
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- How many areas need work
There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed price
When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Any details about the material
- A wider photo showing the whole suite
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.
When a repair is not the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured shower trays
Repair or replace in Thwaite?
Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
What you get with us
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- One price list for the entire UK
- Normally one visit, start to finish
Take a look at our prices page and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
How it works
We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.
- The room is protected and ventilated.
- We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
- We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.
How to prepare
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
Get a quote
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
