Coloured bath resurfacing near Turn

Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Turn use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Turn

A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. If you’re dealing with selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, we can generally put it right.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the day after.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Open a window if you can
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Advice

Questions from Turn

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Can you quote from photos?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Turn. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What you get with us

  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Colour mixed on the day to match

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Turn

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

When we’d advise against a repair

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite

Most clients in Turn get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
