Need wood floor repair in Turn?

Wood floor repair at your home in Turn

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case. We’re frequently asked to fix dents from dropped items and burns, in laminate flooring, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and solid wood.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills straight away.

The process

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

How to get a price

Advice

Questions from Turn

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Is it messy?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Do you cover the whole of Bury?

All of Bury, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Bury.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Turn as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

What affects the price in Turn

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

When to call us in Turn

Chair legs, pets and dropped items mark wood and laminate floors, and moving appliances can gouge them.

People typically call us when they notice one of these:

  • Burns
  • Chipped board edges
  • Dents from dropped items
  • Scratches from furniture and pets

What we can’t put right

Not everything can be repaired, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Engineered wood
  • Laminate flooring
  • Solid wood

Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Prices start from £95. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • No extra charge for your area

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
