Coloured bath resurfacing for Udny Station homes

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Udny Station

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What we’re called out for in Udny Station

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

How to compare quotes

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Why book with us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

The process

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

How to get a price

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. We charge the same across the UK, including Udny Station. The price reflects:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
