Coloured bath resurfacing in West Barnes, done in place
Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Common call-outs are for a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in coloured shower trays, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

DIY kit or professional repair?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Why repair rather than replace?
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What we can’t put right
In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Coloured shower trays
- Whole bathroom suites
What we do, step by step
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- Each item is left to cure, normally ready the following day.
How to prepare
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How many items we do on one visit
- What the surface is made of
- Unusual colours or finishes
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear photos are usually enough. It helps if you send:
- The material, if you know it
- Details of any past repairs
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your KT3 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
When to call us in West Barnes
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.
People typically call us when they notice one of these:
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
What your quote should include
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- What prep work is covered
- Who will actually do the work
- What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
