Coloured bath resurfacing for Whitley homes

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Whitley

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. If you are dealing with selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, whatever the material.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

FAQs for Whitley

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a day or two, depending on how many items, tidy-up included.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Make sure the area is dry

Advice

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. We do not charge extra for travel to Whitley. The price comes down to:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Details of any past repairs

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Whitley, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • No need to remove anything
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Take a look at our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Whitley

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

Questions to ask before you book

  • If travel is included in the price
  • When it can be used again
  • What prep work is covered
  • How your room will be protected

What we cannot put right

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
