Coloured bath resurfacing near Wilford

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Wilford

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Typical jobs include a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour, on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

What we are called out for in Wilford

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Before booking anyone

  • Who turns up on the day
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How the colour is matched
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

How the visit works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, typically until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Questions from Wilford

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Wilford.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
