About our wood floor repair in Briantspuddle
Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will be honest about that. Whether it’s gouges from moving appliances and chipped board edges, we can usually put it right, on laminate flooring, solid wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us) alike.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills immediately.

How we price wood floor repair
Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How much damage there is
- The colour and finish to match
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Quotes from your pictures
Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
- What it’s made of, if you know
We price from pictures so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

What we do, step by step
Your technician turns up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. Most visits take a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We start by cleaning the damage.
- We fill dents, chips and gouges.
- We level the repair to the board surface.
- We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
- Finally we match the sheen of the floor.
Getting ready for the visit
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Make sure the area is dry
- Make sure the room can be ventilated

Related advice
Briantspuddle: your questions answered
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Will there be a smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Repairing versus replacing in Briantspuddle
Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Laminate swollen along the joints by water
- Boards that have lifted or warped
- Underfloor damage
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Laminate flooring
- Engineered wood
- Solid wood
- Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
