How we handle wood floor repair in Brockweir

Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll tell you if that is the case. We repair damaged boards in place, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Our technicians work on solid wood, laminate flooring and engineered wood, and common reasons people get in touch are gouges from moving appliances and burns.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills immediately.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Brockweir. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes a few hours, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Brockweir: your questions answered

What does wood floor repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Do you work in Brockweir?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Brockweir for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you repair a scratched laminate floor?

Yes. We fill and colour-match scratches and chips.

Will the price change on the day?

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Brockweir

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Honest limits

We won’t take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Solid wood
  • Laminate flooring
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Engineered wood

What wood floor repair costs

Repairs from £95. We give every job a fixed price from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How many items we do on one visit

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the whole floor, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
