Wood floor repair at your home in Cury

Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case. If you’re dealing with dents from dropped items and chipped board edges, we can normally put it right.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

FAQs for Cury

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

What happens after I send pictures?

You will get a fixed quote back, plus dates. You are under no obligation.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you cover Cury?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Cury and the rest of Cornwall. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

The process

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

For landlords and businesses

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Cury as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

What we work on

  • Solid wood
  • Laminate flooring
  • Engineered wood
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)

When to call us in Cury

Chair legs, pets and dropped items scratch and dent wood and laminate, and sliding appliances can gouge the boards.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Chipped board edges
  • Scratches from furniture and pets
  • Gouges from moving appliances
  • Burns

Before you book anyone

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Who will actually do the work

Our hiring checklist

How we price wood floor repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • The type of damage
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How much damage there is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Compared with replacing, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from photos

You can take the pictures on your phone. Make sure they show:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the whole floor
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Natural light rather than flash

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your TR12 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Cury. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why Cury customers choose us

  • One price list for the entire UK
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

Should I try a DIY kit first?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
