About our wood floor repair in Dundee
Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Common call-outs are for burns and dents from dropped items, on wood-effect vinyl (ask us), solid wood and laminate flooring.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills right away.
What we cannot put right
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Laminate swollen along the joints by water
- Boards that have lifted or warped
- Underfloor damage
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Solid wood
- Engineered wood
- Laminate flooring
- Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
What happens on the day
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the work takes a few hours. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to care for it.
- We clean the damaged area.
- We fill dents, chips and gouges.
- We sand the repair flush with the board.
- We match the colour and grain by hand.
- The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.
How to prepare
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

What affects the price in Dundee
Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Dundee. The price comes down to:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many items we do on one visit
- The colour and finish to match
- What the surface is made of
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A wider photo showing the entire floor
- The material, if you know it
- Details of any past repairs
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the floor, add your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Replacing a board often means lifting boards to reach it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. A repair leaves the floor down. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Dundee. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
