Wood floor repair in Ireleth without replacing anything

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Laminate swollen by water cannot be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. We’re frequently asked to fix dents from dropped items and scratches from furniture and pets, across solid wood, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and engineered wood.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Ireleth as everywhere else we work. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe up spills promptly.

Questions from Ireleth

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Can pets and children be at home?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

What information do you need?

Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Does the room need clearing?

Just around the damaged area.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know about parking or access

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and relaying. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What wood floor repair costs

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Doing more than one item at once

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Ireleth. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire floor, we can price the job the same day in most cases.
