Bath and surface repairs in Cumbria

How bath repair works in Cumbria

Most baths can be used again the next day. We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. We work on cast iron enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about damage caused while the bathroom was being fitted and rust spots where the enamel has gone.

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, a chip that reaches the metal lets water in, and rust follows. Acrylic baths crack when they flex, often around the taps or the plughole.

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can usually use the bath the next day.

Common questions in Cumbria

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room for the visit, and we’ll agree a time with you.

Do you protect the room?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and clean up before we leave.

How soon can I use it again?

Usually the same day or the next, depending on what we’ve done. We’ll confirm the exact time when we finish.

Do you work for landlords and businesses in Cumbria?

Yes. We carry out repairs for landlords, agents, builders, hotels and homeowners.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
