Trusted wood floor repair in London

Wood floor repair in London without replacing anything

Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll tell you if that’s the case. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. We work on laminate flooring, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and solid wood, and common reasons people get in touch are gouges from moving appliances and burns.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in London and across Greater London. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills straight away.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How to compare quotes

What affects the price in London

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire floor, we can price the job without visiting.

London questions

What does wood floor repair cost?

Repairs from £95. We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, London included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Do you work in London?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to London from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Normally, yes. The old repair comes out first.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

What we do, step by step

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which generally takes a morning or an afternoon. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Laminate flooring
  • Engineered wood
  • Solid wood
