Wood floor repair at your home in March

Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we will be honest about that. We repair damaged boards in place, with the colour and grain matched by hand. We work on wood-effect vinyl (ask us), engineered wood and solid wood, and people most often call us about dents from dropped items and chipped board edges.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills straight away.

FAQs for March

Do I need to move furniture?

Only from the area we are working on.

What happens next?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work. It clears as the materials cure.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Do you cover March?

We do. We send a technician to March for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

How we price wood floor repair

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit

A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole floor

If you are in March and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It typically takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Ask for a price

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, with your PE15 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.

Repairing versus replacing in March

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for March. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why March clients choose us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

See our prices page.

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.
