Wood floor repair in Oxbridge, done in place
Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll be honest about that. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. We regularly repair laminate flooring, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and solid wood, and the jobs we see most are burns and gouges from moving appliances.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
How the visit works
Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.
- We clean the damaged area.
- We fill dents, chips and gouges.
- We sand the repair flush with the board.
- The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
- Finally we match the sheen of the floor.
Getting ready for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Make sure the area is dry
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Oxbridge questions
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.
Are you accredited?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Can you repair a scratched laminate floor?
Yes. We fill and colour-match scratches and chips.
Do I need to move furniture?
Just around the damaged area.
How soon can you come?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

How we price wood floor repair
Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- The material
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How many areas need work
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Quotes from your pictures
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- The material, if you know it
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your TS18 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, sourcing a matching board and relaying. A repair works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Why us?
- Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
- We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- Colour mixed on the day to match
- One-year guarantee on every repair
