Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Oxbridge, Middlesbrough
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone in Oxbridge, carried out at your home and guaranteed for a year.
- Damp near the bath
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Old sealant that looks dirty

Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Bath resealing at your home in Oxbridge
All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We work on basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people contact us are mould you can’t clean out and leaks at the edges.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Oxbridge as everywhere else we work.

How it works
Arrival times are agreed in advance. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath for most jobs. We leave the room clean.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
How to get a price

Do you need bath resealing in Oxbridge?
No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Damp near the bath
- Stained silicone
- Unsealed corners
- Gaps in the seal
What to look for in a quote
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- What protection goes down before work starts
- How soon you can use it again
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
Prices and what affects them
Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:
- The material and finish
- What kind of damage it is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Access to the area
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking.
Send photos for a quote
Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
If you’re in Oxbridge and want a price, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Oxbridge: your questions answered
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Is it messy?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
How long does resealing take?
Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.
Can tenants book a repair?
Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Mould needs moisture. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
We will give you the curing time.

Landlord and trade work in Oxbridge
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
Can I fix it myself?
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
Aftercare tips
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Keep the joints dry
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Use the extractor fan
- Air the room after use
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
