Your questions about wood floor repair in Redmile
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
What happens next?
We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we will ask for another photo.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Typically, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
What areas do you cover?
The entire UK, including all of Nottinghamshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
Do I need to move furniture?
Only from the area we’re working on.
How we handle wood floor repair in Redmile
Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will be honest about that. We repair damaged boards in place, matched to the colour and grain. Our repair technicians work on solid wood, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and laminate flooring, and the jobs we see most are scratches from furniture and pets and burns.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills immediately.

Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and relaying. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

The process
We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We start by cleaning the damage.
- Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
- We level the repair to the board surface.
- The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
- We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.
Before we arrive
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:
- How many items we do on one visit
- What the surface is made of
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Getting a price from pictures
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:
- A wider photo showing the entire floor
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- What it’s made of, if you know
Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your NG13 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
