A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow a few hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.
- First the damaged area is cleaned.
- Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
- The repair is levelled to the board.
- We match the colour and grain by hand.
- Finally we match the sheen of the floor.
Before we arrive
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
How to get a price
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
Advice
Wood floor repair in The Mount, done in place
Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will tell you if that is the case. We repair damaged boards in place, matched to the colour and grain. We work on engineered wood, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and solid wood, and common reasons people get in touch are gouges from moving appliances and dents from dropped items.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

Work for landlords and builders
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
How we price wood floor repair
Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price depends on:
- What the surface is made of
- How easy the damage is to reach
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.
How to get a fixed price
Two or three clear photos are typically enough. Try to include:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Natural light rather than flash
- Where you are, by postcode
- One picture of the entire floor
Send us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in The Mount, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
Repair or replace: which is better?
Swapping a damaged board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.
Why us?
- One price list for the whole UK
- No need to remove anything
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- Free fixed quotes from pictures

Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.
