Wood floor repair in Tresavean without replacing anything

Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will be honest about that. We repair damaged boards in place, matched to the colour and grain. Common call-outs are for chipped board edges and gouges from moving appliances, on laminate flooring, wood-effect vinyl (ask us) and engineered wood.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills straight away.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

What we can’t put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a damaged board often means lifting boards to reach it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What wood floor repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole floor, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
