Wood floor repair for Twickenham homes

Wood floor repair in Twickenham without replacing anything

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we will tell you if that is the case. If you’re dealing with gouges from moving appliances and burns, we can help, whatever the material.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills right away.

Repairing versus replacing in Twickenham

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. A repair works with the boards in place. Prices start from £95. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Send photos for a quote

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One picture of the entire floor
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Where you are, by postcode

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We sand the repair flush with the board.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

How to prepare

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Engineered wood
  • Solid wood
  • Laminate flooring

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
