Wood floor repair near Wash Water

About our wood floor repair in Wash Water

Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. Whether it’s dents from dropped items and gouges from moving appliances, we can help, whatever the material.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

Repair or replace in Wash Water?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. A repair works with the boards in place. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How the visit works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll take it from there. Most visits take a few hours, tidy-up included.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
  5. The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
