Wood floor repair in Waterloo

Wood floor repair in Waterloo, done in place

Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we’ll be honest about that. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Whether it’s chipped board edges and burns, we can help, on laminate flooring, engineered wood and solid wood alike.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will sort it. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe spills immediately.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Repairing versus replacing in Waterloo

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and relaying. A repair works with the boards in place. Our wood floor repair starts from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Laminate flooring
  • Solid wood
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Engineered wood

What affects the price in Waterloo

Repairs from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish
  • How many items we do on one visit

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What we do, step by step

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take a few hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage.
  2. Next we fill the dents and chips.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
  5. Finally we match the sheen of the floor.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Ensure the area is dry

How to get a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the floor, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
