Need wood floor repair in Waterloo?

Wood floor repair in Waterloo without replacing anything

Laminate swollen by water can’t be repaired, and we will be honest about that. We repair damaged boards in place, with the colour and grain matched by hand. We work on solid wood, engineered wood and wood-effect vinyl (ask us), and common reasons people get in touch are burns and dents from dropped items.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we will come back. Use felt pads under furniture and wipe up spills promptly.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. We fill dents, chips and gouges.
  3. The repair is levelled to the board.
  4. We match the colour and grain by hand.
  5. The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Waterloo: your questions answered

Can you quote from pictures?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Will the price change on the day?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Pembrokeshire.

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Do the materials smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

What affects the price in Waterloo

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Waterloo. The price reflects:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Waterloo. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material

To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a board frequently means lifting boards to reach it, finding a board that matches and relaying. Repairing it leaves the floor down. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.
