FAQs for Pembroke Dock

Do you cover Pembroke Dock?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Pembroke Dock. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Pembroke Dock included. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

How we price wood floor repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Pembroke Dock. What changes the price is:

  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Quotes from your pictures

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Where you are, by postcode

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Pembroke Dock, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send photos for each address and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Pembroke Dock use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

When we’d advise against a repair

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Solid wood
  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Engineered wood
  • Laminate flooring

How the visit works

The work is clean and fairly quiet. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a morning or an afternoon. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First the damaged area is cleaned.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. The colour and grain are recreated by hand.
  5. We finish the repair to match the sheen of the floor.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Make sure the area is dry

Ask for a price

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SA72 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a board can mean lifting the floor back to it, sourcing a matching board and laying it all again. Repairing it works with the boards in place. Prices start from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
