Kitchen sink repair for Skinningrove homes

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

Kitchen sink repair at your home in Skinningrove

We repair the damage and match the original finish, so the kitchen stays as it is. Doors with a large area of lifted vinyl generally need re-wrapping or replacing; we repair chips and dents. We work on cabinet ends & plinths, ceramic Belfast & butler sinks and composite sinks, and people most frequently call us about cracks around the waste and chipped door and drawer edges.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. A sink mat protects against dropped pans, and wipe door edges dry.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new sink or door can mean disturbing the worktop, cabinets and plumbing, or hunting for a door that is no longer made. A repair keeps your kitchen as it is. Our kitchen sink repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We clean and prepare the damaged area.
  2. Chips are filled and edges rebuilt.
  3. We sand the repair to the original profile.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze or door.
  5. The repair is polished or sealed.

How to prepare

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Advice

How we price kitchen sink repair

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Skinningrove. The price depends on:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to get a fixed price

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Skinningrove, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

FAQs for Skinningrove

Do you hold any accreditations?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole sink or cupboard door and your postcode. Then we’ll agree a date.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is my repair covered?

Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

Are there extra charges for Skinningrove?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

What a repair cannot fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Doors where the vinyl wrap has lifted across a large area
  • Doors swollen by water
  • Sinks cracked through the base

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Cabinet ends & plinths
  • Vinyl-wrapped doors
  • Composite sinks
  • Gloss and matt cupboard doors
  • Ceramic Belfast & butler sinks
