Kitchen sink repair for Sychdyn homes

About our kitchen sink repair in Sychdyn

We repair the damage and match the original finish, so the kitchen stays as it is. Doors with a large area of lifted vinyl typically need re-wrapping or replacing; we repair chips and dents. We work on vinyl-wrapped doors, cabinet ends & plinths and ceramic Belfast & butler sinks, and the jobs we see most are chipped door and drawer edges and dents and scuffs on cabinets.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Use a sink mat or bowl for heavy pans, and dry the door edges after spills.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a few hours. We clean up when we’re done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We clean and prepare the damaged area.
  2. Next we fill the chips and rebuild any edges.
  3. We sand the repair to the original profile.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze or door.
  5. We polish or seal the repair.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Doors where the vinyl wrap has lifted across a large area
  • Doors swollen by water
  • Sinks cracked through the base

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Cabinet ends & plinths
  • Gloss and matt cupboard doors
  • Composite sinks
  • Vinyl-wrapped doors
  • Ceramic Belfast & butler sinks

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

What kitchen sink repair costs

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Sychdyn. What changes the price is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material and finish

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Sychdyn. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What we are called out for in Sychdyn

Dropped pans chip ceramic sinks, and cupboard doors get knocked by chairs, bins and vacuum cleaners.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Damage from fitting or moving appliances
  • Cracks around the waste
  • Dents and scuffs on cabinets
  • Chips in ceramic sinks

What to look for in a quote

  • Who will actually do the work
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • How to look after the finish
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price

Our hiring checklist

Should you replace it?

A new sink or door may mean disturbing the worktop and plumbing, or hunting for a door that is no longer made. Repairing it leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

What you get with us

  • Fixed prices from your pictures
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Questions from Sychdyn

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, so Sychdyn is covered. Prices do not change with location.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
