Non-slip bath coating in Bangor

How we handle non-slip bath coating in Bangor

It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. It suits older people, families and holiday lets. Whether it’s safety for older or less mobile people and bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten, we can typically put it right.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Questions from Bangor

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Is a non-slip bath easy to clean?

Yes. Use a soft brush and a mild cleaner.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What do you need from me?

A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we’ll quote them together.

What non-slip bath coating costs

You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material
  • What kind of damage it is

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower tray
  • Any details about the material
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some jobs are not right for a repair, for example:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic baths
  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Shower trays
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. It generally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Related advice

Do you need non-slip bath coating in Bangor?

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas

How to compare quotes

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

Repairing versus replacing in Bangor

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in North Down and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
