Non-slip bath coating in California, done in place
It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. We’re often asked to fix bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and safety for older or less mobile people, across enamelled baths, resurfaced baths and wet room floors (ask us).
Every job is backed for twelve months in California and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Landlord and trade work in California
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in California as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.
Your questions about non-slip bath coating in California
How do I clean it?
Yes. Use a soft brush and a mild cleaner.
Will there be a smell?
There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
Can tenants book a repair?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?
Only slightly: the treated area looks slightly matt.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
What information do you need?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Repairing versus replacing in California
The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What affects the price in California
Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The type of damage
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
How to get a fixed price
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.
The process
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- First the standing area is cleaned and degreased.
- The area to be treated is masked out.
- We apply the clear textured coating.
- We remove the masking for a neat edge.
- Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.
How to prepare
- Point us to the nearest place to park
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Open a window if you can
Getting a price
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
