Non-slip bath coating for Cobridge homes

Non-slip bath coating in Cobridge, done in place

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. We’re frequently asked to fix worn-out textured areas and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, on enamelled baths, shower trays and wet room floors (ask us).

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Cobridge as everywhere else we work. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why book with us

  • Work done at your home or business
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • A fixed quote before booking
  • No extra charge for your area

What affects the price in Cobridge

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • How much damage there is

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A picture taken from further back

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower tray, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Stoke-on-Trent and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

When we’d advise against a repair

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

How it works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes a morning or an afternoon, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. We leave it to cure, typically overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower tray, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.

Related advice

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

When to call us in Cobridge

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

The things customers usually mention when they call are:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How your room will be protected
  • How soon you can use it again
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
