Non-slip bath coating for Crossgill homes

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Crossgill

It’s popular with homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. We regularly repair resurfaced baths, shower trays and enamelled baths, and common reasons people contact us are safety for older or less mobile people and worn-out textured areas.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

How it works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes a morning or an afternoon. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Landlord and trade work in Crossgill

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we will arrange it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

When we’d advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Resurfaced baths
  • Enamelled baths
  • Shower trays
  • Acrylic baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

Common problems we fix in Crossgill

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

What your quote should include

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How long it needs to cure
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • What prep work is covered

How to compare quotes

What non-slip bath coating costs

We charge the same across the UK, including Crossgill. The price reflects:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The material

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your pictures

When you take your photos, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower tray
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material

If you are in Crossgill and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Most jobs done in one visit
