Non-slip bath coating for Douglas homes

Non-slip bath coating in Douglas without replacing anything

It suits older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. We are frequently asked to fix safety for older or less mobile people and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, on enamelled baths, shower trays and wet room floors (ask us).

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Why repair rather than replace?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Common questions in Douglas

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Dundee. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

How much does non-slip bath coating cost in Douglas?

Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Will there be a smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We come back with a fixed price. There is no obligation to book.

Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?

Only slightly: it shows as a matt area where you stand.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a few hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, normally overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

When we’d advise against a repair

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in Douglas

  • Shower trays
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Enamelled baths

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Signs you need non-slip bath coating in Douglas

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Look out for these signs:

  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

How we price non-slip bath coating

We charge the same across the UK, including Douglas. What changes the price is:

  • Access to the area
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed quote

Phone photos are fine. Just make sure we can see:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A picture taken from further back

Send us a picture of the damage and one of the entire item, with your DD4 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
