Need non-slip bath coating in Evenlode?

Non-slip bath coating in Evenlode, done in place

It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so the bath looks much the same. Common call-outs are for a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and resurfaced baths that are now too smooth, in resurfaced baths, acrylic baths and shower trays.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a few hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. We mask out the area to be treated.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

How to get a price

Advice

When a repair is not the answer

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What we work on

  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Evenlode as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.

How we price non-slip bath coating

A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Evenlode. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Evenlode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

What we’re called out for in Evenlode

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet

Before booking anyone

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How long it needs to cure

10 questions to ask before booking

Evenlode questions

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Evenlode and the rest of Gloucestershire. Just include your postcode and we will offer you dates.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What happens if you find more damage?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Normally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Will I see the coating?

Very little: it shows as a matt area where you stand.

Are there extra charges for Evenlode?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed price includes everything.

Repairing versus replacing in Evenlode

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.
