Non-slip bath coating for Finstock homes

Non-slip bath coating in Finstock without replacing anything

The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. We’re often asked to fix bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, on enamelled baths, wet room floors (ask us) and acrylic baths.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Oxfordshire. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

Repairing versus replacing in Finstock

The alternatives are a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • Everything repaired in place
  • A fixed quote before you book
  • No extra charge for your area
  • One visit for most repairs

How we price non-slip bath coating

We do not charge extra for travel to Finstock. The price comes down to:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Finstock. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

When to call us in Finstock

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, yet with soap and water on them they become slippery. The textured patch on an older bath also wears down over time.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet

When a repair is not the answer

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Common questions in Finstock

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

How quickly can you book me in?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Is my repair covered?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

The process

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Ensure the area is dry

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
