Non-slip bath coating in Gatesheath, done in place
It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so the bath looks much the same. We’re often asked to fix resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and safety for older or less mobile people, across shower trays, enamelled baths and resurfaced baths.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cheshire West and Chester. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Do not use abrasive pads on the textured area.

How we price non-slip bath coating
There’s no area surcharge for Gatesheath. The price reflects:
- The colour and finish to match
- What kind of damage it is
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Getting a price from photos
We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Any details about the material
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Upload photos of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Gatesheath, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
What we’re called out for in Gatesheath
Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but with soap and water on them they become slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.
Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:
- Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten
- Worn-out textured areas
- Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
- A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
What to look for in a quote
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
- How the colour is matched
- When it can be used again
- A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
Gatesheath questions
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Gatesheath.
Do the materials smell?
It depends on the job, but often a little. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed price. There’s no obligation to book.
Will the price change on the day?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Can tenants book a repair?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Yes, regularly. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK. Prices don’t change with location.
The process
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Allow a morning or an afternoon. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to care for it.
- We start by degreasing the area where you stand.
- The area to be treated is masked out.
- We put on the clear non-slip coating.
- We lift the masking for a clean edge.
- We leave it to cure, usually overnight.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear the area around the damage
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
Getting a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Can I fix it myself?
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
What a repair can’t fix
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
- Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
- Outdoor surfaces
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair
- Wet room floors (ask us)
- Enamelled baths
- Shower trays
- Resurfaced baths
- Acrylic baths
Repairing versus replacing in Gatesheath
The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A non-slip coating adds grip to the bath you have. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it.
Why book with us
- A fixed quote before booking
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
