Non-slip bath coating in Great Canney

Non-slip bath coating in Great Canney, done in place

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. If you are dealing with safety for older or less mobile people and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet, we can help, whatever the material.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Before and after: an old shower tray refinished by Surface Doctor

Should you replace it?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or a bath mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • One price list for the entire UK
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • One visit for most repairs

Honest limits

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Enamelled baths
  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays
  • Resurfaced baths

How it works

From the moment we arrive, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes a few hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Ensure the area is dry

Advice

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Your questions about non-slip bath coating in Great Canney

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. If photos do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Will a non-slip coating change how my bath looks?

Only slightly: it shows as a matt area where you stand.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What non-slip bath coating costs

There is no area surcharge for Great Canney. What changes the price is:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many areas need work

Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Any details about the material

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.
