Helperby questions

Is there a call-out fee?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Do you work in Helperby?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and travel to Helperby and the rest of North Yorkshire. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Helperby.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

How do I clean it?

Yes. A soft brush and mild cleaner is all it needs.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Non-slip bath coating at your home in Helperby

It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We work on acrylic baths, resurfaced baths and wet room floors (ask us), and common reasons people contact us are a bath or tray that is slippery when wet and bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

When a repair isn’t the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths

Do you need non-slip bath coating in Helperby?

Baths and trays are made smooth so they’re easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • A bath or tray that is slippery when wet
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth

What affects the price in Helperby

We charge the same across the UK, including Helperby. What changes the price is:

  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The type of damage
  • The colour and finish to match

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send pictures for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Upload a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Helperby, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Repair or replace: which is better?

The alternatives are replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or a bath mat, which traps water and needs cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Why us?

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • No extra charge for your area

See our prices page.

How the visit works

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. We apply the clear textured coating.
  4. We lift the masking for a clean edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

How to prepare

  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear the area around the damage
